Hola,
The reason why I moved to Almería was to study here. So, maybe I should tell something about the university. I decided to only follow English classes, so my changes to succeed are bigger. I follow:
- Control de gestión
- Estadística avanzada
- Introducción a la administración de empresas
- Habilidades de dirección y gestión
- Introducción al marketing turístico
- Curso de Español
It seems quite a lot, but you need it for your ECTS. But don’t worry we are still in Spain and I only have 3 days of colleges. All the classes are second year classes expect Control de gestión (third year) and Introducción a la administración de empresas (first year).
I took the first year class after a month, because I figured out that statistics (estadística avanzada) is really hard. The class is a second year class and I definitely miss the knowledge of the first year.
All the other classes are good to follow and it is quite easy when you compare it to the Dutch level. A big difference is that the teacher really thinks participation during classes is important (ofcourse it is, but one teacher gives you a mark for every class/working group or case study). This means that you have to go to almost all classes, especially the working groups are important for extra points. And you have to say something every class for a good mark..
Another good thing to know is that you have to pay €200,- for the Spanish language course. We were told that it was free, so it was quite a setback. The classes are in the evening, so sometimes you make long days at university. But the classes are really good and the teacher is really nice. And the course is worth 4 ECTS.
Ofcourse it is university, but here in Almería it's quite nice to go to university. There is a cafetaria you can go after classes. The 'coffee con leche' is really nice and they have nice 'bocadillos' for just around €1,- each. You can sit outside in the sun under the palmtrees, so going to university is really not that hard.
Hasta la próxima!
